Chartered members are voted in from the chartered members that belong to the Durham Archery Club.
Each chartered member is expected to abide by all club rules and complete their minimum work assessment.
All chartered members will have complete voting rights in the club. In order to keep all charter rights,
a chartered member has to be a member in good standing. This means:
- membership fee paid latest by May 1st;
- minimum work assessment of previous year completed, either by working those hours or paying the work
assessment fee latest by May 1st;
Failure to comply to any of the above rules will result in the loss of
said member's rights. If the club folds for some unknown reason the assets will be shared by the executive
and chartered members.
-
Directors (coordinators) of the club are individuals that are appointed certain positions from
the executives and are usually the individuals that become chartered members. The Directors are
to be contacted by any members with issues in the area concerned.
-
All members are required to keep the combination lock number confidential. If you are approached by
other people or members of the club to reveal the number, please refer them to the secretary. Please
report any violation to the executives.

Safety is number 1 around the club. When shooting at the butt range - No one is to nock or shoot an arrow until everyone
is behind the shooting line. On the course arrows are to be carried in quiver until at the shooting stake. On the butt range
or on the course there will be absolutely NO SKY JACKING when pulling your bow.
"Sky jacking" is when an archer points his/her bow in a skyward direction when drawing, therefore creating a dangerous situation
if the arrow is accidently released. This form of drawing is usually caused from using a bow that is too much for the archer to handle.
-
All gates must be locked after entering or exiting them with your key or combination.
-
Drugs are not allowed on club property and people under the influence of drugs or alcohol
will not be allowed to shoot.
-
You will loose your membership if you are found using practise broadheads
or broadheads on our targets and butts. You must bring you own target for
broadheads and they can only be used at the butt range.
-
Always start at target 1 and follow the numbered order when shooting the outdoor courses. Never take short cuts! Follow the marked path!
-
No archer will shoot across the pond in any direction for safety reasons.
-
Anyone found breaking the rules will be given a warning, or dismissed from the club depending
on the severity of the infraction.
-
All small children must be accompanied by parent(s) when at the target range, pond or on the
course. All parents are responsible for their children.
-
Membership I.D. cards must be worn, and visible at all times while on club property.
-
A guest must be accompanied at all times by a current member. Before the guest can get a tour or shoot the courses, he/she has to sign
a waiver form which will be located in the clubhouse. The cost is $10.00/individual and $20.00/family.
